The singularity is here. It's 2038 and most menial jobs have been automated away, except for the odd gig economy grunt work or entertaining others on the world’s most ubiquitous social media app. Tessa Faraday is an intrepid young podcaster who gets paid in cryptocurrency to talk about her love life in sordid detail. She dreams of breaking out and doing more serious investigative reporting, but she keeps getting pulled back down. After suffering an identity theft, she returns to her hometown of Seattle to figure out what happened, and why. She soon discovers a world of 3D-printed guns, future cops, social media cults and research chemicals. In the end she's left questioning the very nature of reality as unseen enemies attack her from every direction.
